Liyana the movie is showing at the Davis Varsity, opening December 14th. This is a film crafted by the young people we lived and worked alongside at New Life Homes in Swaziland. It is also beautifully done and has received noteworthy reviews. Ironically, we are in Swaziland and will miss the Davis showing. I'll post the full description and link below. LIYANA is a genre-defying documentary that tells the story of five children in the Kingdom of Eswatini (formally Swaziland) who turn past trauma into an original fable about a girl named Liyana who embarks on a perilous quest to save her young twin brothers. The film weaves her animated journey together with poetic documentary scenes to create an inspiring tale of perseverance and hope.
